Mobile phone has become an integral part of our life, it solves both domestic and business issues. And besides ordinary calls, phone is already impossible to imagine without possibility of sending short SMS messages and accessing Internet. But do not forget that mobile phone is not only a convenient device, but also a technical device that releases electromagnetic waves harmful to health.
Scientists have proved that among harmful factors that develop erectile dysfunction symptoms, use of mobile phone is taking the lead. Imre Feijes of University of Szeged conducted a study on effect of electromagnetic waves on male genitalia when wearing mobile phone in a trousers pocket. As a result, hypothesis was confirmed that erection and ability to have offspring decreased by a third. It was noted that the closer mobile device to the groin, the stronger its negative impact.
The study involved more than 200 men. Trials lasted for 13 months. During this period, sperm of active mobile phone users began to contain 30% less semen, and in it a large number of damaged spermatozoa were noted. Electromagnetic waves also reduced motility of spermatozoa, which caused deterioration in quality of sperm almost twofold. Thus, it was concluded that active use of mobile phone not only causes problems with potency, but also develops male infertility.
It is worth noting that in carrying out such studies, organizers take into account not the only factor, but also many other factors: age, weight, bad habits, stress. Nevertheless, in research environment there is also criticism aimed at accusing of incomplete coverage of phenomenon being studied. So Alan Pasi, senior lecturer at University of Sheffield (USA) says that such studies do not give complete picture of influence of mobile phones on emergence of sexual disorders, since only one side of the question is being studied – wearing the device in the pocket of trousers. In this case, many men most of the time keep the phone near the ear. But whether this affects men’s health remains unknown. In addition, there is still no mechanism to determine exactly how electromagnetic waves damage sperm.
In modern world, number of cell phone users is steadily growing every day. Therefore, the problem of impact of such device on health of men will remain relevant for many years to come.
Erectile Dysfunction Treatment
At the moment, there are 3 main certified medications that have been approved by expert commissions. They include Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. They have the same mechanism of action. After they enter the body, there is an increase in blood flow to penis, so that if there is an object of desire nearby, then there comes persistent erection that can last for several hours.
What’s the difference between these drugs for eretile dysfunction?
The only excellent qualities of all these drugs are speed of onset and duration of effect. The most powerful of them is Cialis, which starts its action in 15 minutes and can operate for 1,5 days. Viagra and Levitra are somewhat weaker. They begin to act after 30 minutes, and retain erection the first one – for 4 hours, and the second – for 12 hours.
Are there any other drugs that can help if these are not effective?
Of course, you can try, but since all drugs have the same mechanism for increasing erection, then most likely they will not help you either.
Who should refrain from taking such drugs?
These medications are not recommended if you have had cardiac angina during the last 6 months, life-threatening arrhythmia or myocardial infarction. The best way out in such situations will be to see a doctor who will prescribe you treatment with other methods. Do not take risks if you have high or low blood pressure, and also when you have chest pain during sexual intercourse.
Do these medications have side effects?
Of course, like any other medicine, Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have their side effects. The most common of them include:
- gastric disorders and heartburn;
- nasal congestion;
- violation of color perception;
- pain in the lower back.
If these symptoms do not disappear within next 4 to 8 hours or if you feel completely unwell, it is better to contact your doctor.
In situations when after receiving these drugs you feel strong fever, pain in the chest or penis with erection, or when erection lasts for more than 4 hours, you should call an ambulance, because such conditions can be very dangerous.
One of the most formidable complications accompanying these drugs is optical neuropathy. It arises because of decrease in blood flow to optic nerve, resulting in visual impairments. At the same time there is a risk group, in which chance to get this pathology is the greatest. The majority of these people are smokers over 50 years old. These drugs also should not be taken by those who have diseases of cardiovascular system, such as ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension.
